Childlike Age

I’m sorry you grew up so fast.
You're missing that sword of wood and grinning face,
Some ripped jeans and a muddy taste,
The childlike bliss you never let last.

Who said we had to stop?
Facing what made you age is bold.
With childlike joy and grace, grow old.
Face the fears and tears, though they still drop.
I’ll show you how to run wilder.
Scraped knees will bleed out your old pain.
Learn to jump in the joy, though they may call you insane.
His glory you'll learn to see in the joy, when you learn to see brighter.
I’m sorry you grew up so fast.
A head to often full of what drags you down.
A dirt smeared grin, replaced with a frown.
If only you knew that childlike bliss, it can last.
