Who Am I?

Everything that makes you, my dear, despite your critical stare, is the beauty that reflects your maker in you. It’s the beauty of His spirit built into you.
You are not made up of your pain, nor your mistakes. For all of that He has bore and finished on His own shoulders. And now you are made new.
He is strong in your weakness, And has made your scars into wisdom lines that crease your face and arms and tell a story of battles He has won.
You have a beautiful soul. I can see it on your face. I love to admire your imperfect appearance. And how all that it is, is perfect. Made only for you.
Your twinkling eyes and soft smile. The freckles across your nose and the laughing lines near your eyes from all the years of experience.
Your creativity and fascinations, your sweet heart of gold. Everything that makes you uniquely you.
But I am not praising you or your appearance or character. I do not say “love yourself because you are worthy”. I am here only to recognize,
How first we were wretched sinners and our beauty was all for naught, but by His cleansing and renewing, my acceptance of forgiveness, I can only now clearly see..
I am made in His image.
And all our beauty is His. My identity is not in me, who I am, what I did, good or bad, strength or weakness, highs or lows. It is well because He is good and has created me in and for His purpose.
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
Psalm 139:14 ESV
For my beautiful friends. And for me. Cause I forgot and will forget again tomorrow, that my worth doesn’t come from me and I am not made up of my failures.
He is beautiful, mighty and true.
